Mercury Rev, who've recently finished performing at a spate of European festivals, which saw them play Glastonbury and T-In-The-Park, are set to release a new single for V2 on August 16th. 'Goddess On A Hiway' is taken from last year's award winning 'Deserter's Songs'.

Available on 2 CDs and a 7", tracks include John Lennon's 'I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier' (from a May '99 Peel session) and a special live recording of an early song, 'Very Sleepy Rivers'. This 12-minute epic was recorded on November 2nd 1993 at the final performance by Mercury Rev with original singer David Baker.
